ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Early in 2000, as a voluntary undertaking, PGM committed to, and established an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard to ensure all operations, ashore and on board our managed vessels, are conducted in a manner to provide for environmental protection. PGM’s environmental management system and ISO 14001 Certification is backed by the total commitment of Management, having been created and developed by a joint effort of both Management and staff.

This Environmental Management System is designed and implemented to:

  • Provide for continuous improvement in the environmental management skills of all personnel ashore and on board the ship, including emergency preparedness.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in protection of the environment.
  • Monitor Industry trends and technical developments to indentify and adopt best practices relevant to our operations and our commitment to improve Safety and Environmental Protection
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable marine environmental protection rules, regulations and statutory requirements established under applicable international, flag state, port state and coastal state law, and the United States laws including, but not limited to:
